Hi i'm 13 and want to buy Electric or Petrol RC car, Am i suited for this hobie?

I'm 13 and i want to buy a Electric RC drift car or a Petrol RC car. But i'm scared to pay over $ 300+ on a RC car and not know how to maintain it. My Hobbies are Cars and Technology.

Fixed my dads Ford Falcon SR 2002 Au III Wagon its problem was the power window wouldn't work.
Started A Successful Drift Team on Gran Turismo 5

First of all there is no petrol rc car there is nitro. Well, none of the experiences you mentioned is helpfull. Your age doesn't mater, I started when I was 5, now I'm 17 and I race in tournaments. Now, there is no quality car cheaper than 400$. If you decide to buy a car then I can give you more details about how to trim it and maintain it.
